Founded in 2014, Fountain is a talent platform that is redefining workforce management. With a global reach, they have helped companies hire 14 million hourly workers across 75 countries.

As they continue to build new products that meet the demands of a growing industry - as well as adapt to market conditions - they reached out to Career Sandwich in late 2023 to discuss whether Career Sandwich’s modernized offboarding experience might be a good for their employees.  This is the story of how we’ve made it happen.

The Problem

Fountain is an organization that is very intentional about helping people be as successful as possible. While the hope is that their employees will be successful at Fountain, occasionally they need to part ways with members of the team. That’s why Fountain was looking for a better way to support folks as they transitioned out of the company. They wanted a program that was able to adapt to the flexibility of their business, while staying on brand with their human-centric employee experience. They knew this program must be holistic in its approach to serving their business, and alumni.  

The Solution

The core values of Career Sandwich aligned perfectly with the needs of Fountain. Career Sandwich is a team, and showed up ready to collaborate and build this program rooted in our own experiences of leading People/HR Teams and designing programs that are experience-led. Some of the highlights include:

Use credits (not calendars) for maximum flexibility | Fountain was drawn to Career Sandwich’s business model because it allowed for increased flexibility for their business. Our credits are valid for a year after purchase, which means the Fountain Leadership team can utilize our services when they actually need them, not based on arbitrary calendars.
Relational, not transactional | Career Sandwich and Fountain are both experience-first organizations and prioritize the human side of business. Career Sandwich’s philosophy demands that users feel they are one of one, not one of many.
