Stop saying: "Can I work from home?"

"Can I work from home?"
It’s one of the most common questions candidates ask in interviews today, but it’s rarely asked the right way. Instead of making the question about whether or not someone can work from home, make it about why they should.
“It’s important to me that I’m as impactful as I can be in every role I take on. I’ve found that for me, working from home most of the time is where I can be most effective and deliver my best work for my manager and the team. Given that, are you open to me working remotely?”
While some roles will be exclusively in the office, reframing the question so it focuses on the outcome of working from home gives them a much more compelling reason for them to consider.
